Brush State Wildlife Area is located in Morgan county Colorado.

From Brush Colorado, go 2.5 miles north on Highway 71 to County Road 28; then 1 mile north to south parking lot. Another parking lot is located on the north side of the river on County Road T.9 and County Road 27.

Brush State Wildlife Area is approximately 588 acres (0.92 sq. miles or 2.38 sq. kilometers) and ranges from 4,159 ft to 4,224 ft in elevation.

This State Wildlife Area offers the following recreational activities:
- Fishing: largemouth bass, small mouth bass and bluegill.
- Hunting: deer, duck, goose, turkey, rabbit, pheasant, squirrel, bobwhite quail and dove.
- Recreation: hunting, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing.
- Restrictions:
   a. Camping, fires prohibited.
   b. Closed 9pm to 3am except with night hunting permit.
   c. Discharging firearms or bows prohibited except when hunting. Discharging bows allowed for bowfishing.
   d. Target practice prohibited except if authorized by area wildlife manager.
   e. All recreational activities except deer hunting are prohibited on opening weekend of regular plains rifle deer season, and opening day and
       first weekend of late plains rifle deer season.
   f. Horse use prohibited except when training hunting dogs and then only allowed in February, March and April (through through Wednesday
       before spring turkey season opens) and August.
   g. Beginning on first day of regular duck season through last day of regular duck season, waterfowl and small game hunters must check out at
       designated check stations.
   h. Access from designated parking areas only.
   i. Launching or taking out vessels prohibited from first day of teal season to last day of dark goose season.

Brush SWA is one of several state wildlife areas to adopt new regulations to help the DOW evaluate whether they help improve hunting success. These new regulations may impact waterfowl and small game hunters. For more information, please read the South Platte Research State Wildlife Areas 2009 Brochure (2.7MB PDF).
Public access is prohibited from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. daily except when authorized by a night hunting permit.
