User Favorites
|
|
The Sports Globe allows registered user the ability to save Favorites (aka Bookmarks) within their user account. There are 3 types of Favorites, as explained below:
♦ Provider Favorites;
are favorites saved within your user account that allow you to save the link and comments for a specific Service Provider.
This can become very useful when you find a Service Provider that is of interest to you. The Provider Favorites are
organized by the Service Provider type (Archery Shop, Outfitter - Guide, etc.) in the 'Account Manager'.
♦ Public Land Favorites;
are favorites saved within your user account related to Public Lands. This becomes useful when there are certain Public Lands
that you use frequently, as it allows you to quickly find the Public Lands of interest that you have saved.
♦ Calendar Event Favorites;
are favorites that you save in your user account for a specific Calendar Event. This becomes useful for viewing all
Calendar Events that you have saved, and is displayed by Calendar Event type (Archery, General Public, etc.) then
by Begin Date of the Calendar Event in the 'Account Manager'.
♦ Package Favorites;
are favorites that you save in your user account for a specific Package. This becomes useful for viewing all
Packages that you have saved, and is displayed by Package type (Hunting Package, Fishing Package, etc.) then
by Begin Date of the Package in the 'Account Manager'.
Aside from removing the Favorites from your user account yourself, Favorites (any of the three mentioned above) will automatically be removed from your user account when a Service Provider becomes inactive. Calendar Event and Package Favorites will also be automatically removed from your user account when the 'End Date' of the Calendar Event or Package has passed.

Reminders (for Calendar Events and Packages)
|
|
The Sports Globe allows registered user the ability to create Reminders within their user account. There are 2 types of Reminders, as explained below:
♦ Calendar Event Reminders;
are reminders that you save in your user account for a specific Calendar Event. The purpose of the reminder is
to send you an email notification (reminder) about that specific Calendar Event.
♦ Package Reminders;
are reminders that you save in your user account for a specific Package. The purpose of the reminder is
to send you an email notification (reminder) about that specific Package.
When creating a Reminder, the user selects when the reminder (email notification) is to happen prior to the beginning date of the Calendar Event or Package. The increments are based on either the number of 'Days' or 'Weeks' (1 to 7) before the specific Calendar Event or Package begins. For example, you may have a reminder set to; 3 Days before the Calendar Event Starts or 2 Weeks before the Package Starts.
Aside from removing the Reminders from your user account yourself, Reminders (any of the two mentioned above) will automatically be removed from your user account when a Service Provider becomes inactive, a Service Provider cancels (deletes) the Calendar Event or Package, or when the End Date of the Calendar Event or Package has passed. If a user removes a Calendar Event/Package Favorite which has a Reminder for the same Calendar Event/Package, the reminder is also automatically removed.

Notification Services (for Calendar Events and Packages)
|
|
The Sports Globe also has 'Notification Services' which are system generated email notifications of changes that happen to Calendar Events and Packages that you have identified as a Favorite in your user account.
The are two instances of when a notification will be sent to a registered user who has a Favorite to a specific Calendar Event or Package, as explained below in more detail:
♦ Cancellation Notification (Calendar Event/Package);
If a Service Provider 'cancels' (deletes) a Calendar Event or Package, and you have a Favorite to that specific
Calendar Event or Package - a 'Cancellation Notification' will be sent to you to inform you, as well has having
that specific Favorite (and any Reminders) removed from your user account.
♦ Update Notification (Calendar Event/Package);
If a Service Provider 'updates' a Calendar Event or Package (specifically the Begin Date, End Date, Time Zone
or Location), and you have a Favorite to that specific Calendar Event or Package - an 'Update Notification'
will be sent to you to inform you that there has been an update.
Additional Information regarding Update Notifications: The Sports Globe does not change any 'Reminders' the user may has scheduled for a Calendar Event or Package that has had its Begin Date, End Date or Time Zone changed.
